Review of Liewood Bamboo Tableware

We fell for the cute design and didn’t consider the quality and longevity of the baby dinnerware. Rookie mistake. We’ll tell why next in our Liewood Bamboo Tableware Review.

Our little one has been kind enough to thoroughly test the Liewood bamboo tableware over the course of many, many meals. The set includes a cup, spoon, plate, bowl perfect for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Liewood’s bamboo tableware is adorable, and we like that the dinnerware is lightweight and that it goes in the dishwasher. That said, our little one also likes that it’s light and easy to pick up. And constantly threw the plate and bowl down from the highchair tray, leaving a big mess after each meal.

After a few weeks, the bowl broke in two after being knocked to the ground a few times. The following week the plate was thrown on the floor and immediately broke into two pieces.

The spoon is a bit wide for our little one. Perhaps it’s better for an older toddler.

Liewood Bamboo Tableware Review Verdict

The design of Liewood’s bamboo tableware is lovely. But it’s not suited to outlive a strong-willed baby or toddler that likes to explore the effect of gravity. Also, it would have been convenient if it were microwave-safe.

In our review of Liewood’s bamboo tableware, we conclude that for little ones learning to feed themselves, we recommend buying a plate or bowl that suctions directly to surfaces, making it difficult for tiny hands to tip over.

Alternatives to Liewood’s bamboo tableware

An excellent alternative to bamboo tableware is placemats or bowls that suctions to the tray or table to keep messes in check. We like ezpz’s bendable placemats as they’re also dishwasher-safe and microwave-safe. That’s a huge win.
